His Mission and Ours!

The Michael Age has dawned. Hearts begin to have thoughts. Enthusiasm no longer flows from mystical obscurity, but from the inner clarity thought conveys. To grasp this is to receive Michael into one’s soul. Thoughts that today seek to grasp the spirit must spring from hearts that beat for Michael as the fiery cosmic prince of thought. FOR CENTURIES, the tradition of the “mystical chronology” of the seven Archangelic Regents of the world has been part of Western esoteric teaching. According to this tradition, the year 1879 marked the return of the solar Spirit, Michael, the Archangel of the Sun, to the rulership of earthly evolution. Rudolf Steiner always placed his life and work in the service of Michael’s evolutionary task. At the same time, he also recognized that, at the turn of the 20^th century, humanity had emerged from the Kali Yuga or Dark Age and entered the Age of Light.

Against this background, Steiner described Michael’s ascent to Cosmic Rulership, his battle with the Dragon of the Spirits of Darkness, and his role as the Countenance of Christ and Guardian of the Cosmic Intelligence. In addition, Steiner gave many profound indications of the ways in which Michael’s evolutionary task depends upon the free and independent collaboration of human co-workers. In other words, speaking for Michael, Rudolf Steiner laid down the essentials of a new Michaelic path to a full humanity.

Among the elements of this path are the development of selfless individuality; cosmopolitanism; the practice of Christ’s presence; courage; the transformation of thinking and perceiving in a new synthesis of science, art, and religion; the spiritualization of space; and the separation of thought from language.

In the present volume we have gathered some of Rudolf Steiner’s most important statements on this theme, making this collection a primary source for coming to terms with today’s political, social, psychological and spiritual crises.

Under different names, from the moment the idea of humanity war born in the divine mind, the spiritual Being known as Michael has accompanied humanity on its journey through the cosmos. Now, this relationship must become conscious.

All rubbish? Quite certain for someone with a materialistic point of view, but for someone who accepts the existence of a spiritual reality besides or better in the material world it is for sure not ! The least is conscious of the influences he has to deal with whereas the other one, the so-called realistic one, is in reality is the real dreamer ... only unconscious of it!

Read these old conferences with these thoughts in your mind and decide for yourself how much you can trust them! You will finally agree with me that cosmic intelligence had no chance to avoid these historical events which included human pains ... to get the final goal: the awakening of human beings and to make them conscious of their divine origin!
